What do I have to buy to make it run fast enough to run bigger games. It works fine but I want to install games with better graphics and they always run too slow. Also how much would the hardware cost and how do I install it?

It very much depends on your computer, but, in general, you can never have too much RAM, so that would be a good place to start.
Check the specs for your computer and install as much as it will handle. (installation is usually just a matter of opening the case and slotting the RAM cards into the appropriate sockets... but you do have to be careful handling them, they are very sensitive to static damage. If you're not sure, have somebody do it who is... in many case, the store where you get the RAM can install it for you.)

If graphics are your main interest, invest in a better video card, with plenty of onboard memory.

If your computer is an older model, investigate whether you can upgrade the processor.

You mght also think about a faster disk, if your games will do a lot of swapping.

If you plan to play online games, make sure your LAN is up to speed - maybe look at Gigabit or Pre-N, and check with your service provider to ensure that your Internet connection is giving you the best bit rate they can do... But bear in mind that the vast part of the Net connection is beyond your control, so you just have to deal with delays and glitches out there.

All of the above will cost you, and the better options you choose, the more it costs.. but you can also tune your computer, for free, which will help. Use the disk defragmenter regulalrly - maybe once a week, or more if you see fragmentation rising above about 10%. Use the disk clean-up tool. Get rid of any background processes which are not essential to what you need to run. (Be careful with this... consult a specialist if youre not sure...)

And before you do anything... take a backup!!!

You don't say what your computer's current specifications are -- that's essential. Your PC may not have the capability of being upgraded (at least to the extent that it's worth it.) Generally, if your PC is greater than 3 years old, you're better off buying new.

To speed up what you have, the best thing you can do is backup all your personal files and reload Windows from scratch (a fresh, clean installation.) This requires a lot of time and effort -- but it makes a PC run like the wind!

The newest games typically take the best graphics card you can get your hands on. Having a ton of system RAM won't hurt either. Then of course, you'll need the fastest CPU money can buy. And finally you'll want to go ahead and get that 320 Gb hard drive. Now go throw away your completely obsolete brand new PC because something better is already out!!

you can try crap cleaner and take off some of the uneccessary file that you have on your system. or you can do a disk clean: from system tools. It would also help if you take off some of the programs that are not necessary on you PC. Or you could always get a new memory card and add more memory to your PC. To buy you can try CompUSA, Curcuit City, GO on the website and check out the price not too sure on that end. Or on Ebay to get it for a much reasonable price.

Sounds like you need to upgrade you processor. Also for games with lots of graphics you might want to add more ram, if you have below 256mg.
Are you sure your graphics card supports the games you are trying to run.
Last but not least defrag you computer at least every other day.
Good luck

You should probably start with a new video card. You'll need to know what kind of video card can be used in your system. If you're not sure, take your system to BestBuy and have them help you find a new card. You're looking to spend at least $150 for a decent card. You can let BestBuy install it for you, or you can read the instructions and do it yourself. It's not all that hard.
