down loading drivers does not help.when I go into the system there is a yellow check mark by the plug on the in the properties program I,am at my wits end.

You may need to call the customer line. I would take everything off the computer relating to the printer, drivers programs, etc. I then would reinstall only using the default setup that the computer picks for the printer. That way if it is an old version, it will probably tell you that upgrading is needed or something. Also, are you sure you do not have a virus or an old computer that cannot handle it?

Did you click on the yellow check mark? If so, what did the system tell you? Try checking all the connections.

give more information of printer
usb printer - check usb plug
device manager - check usb bus controller drivers installed or no

Try going into your control panel click on printers and faxes and see if it is checed as your default printer.
