How the heck does that happen??? We have no pets, never had any pets, and I am trying to figure out how the got there. I found one on my 3 year old son, and my husband and I have bites all over!! What kind of fleas could these be, and how did I suddenly become infested with them. We just bombed our house (because of spiders, but with multi insect bombs) in September. Does this make any sense???

Oh, and the carpet was brand new when we moved in and none of our close neighbors have any pets either.

When fleas are hungry they don't care where they eat. You can bring them home from anywhere. Your kids could have brought them home from school even... good luck getting rid of them! I think the Adams flea products are the best... they used to be hard to find but I saw them at walmart last week.... I want to buy stock in it!! Good luck!!!

If they are little tiny black fleas look for a birds next close by because they are infested with fleas. I wouldn't worry about mice unless you have seen them in your house. Grass fleas are in everybody's grass pets or no pets and you can bring them into your house on your clothes. Now with the cool weather they are looking for a place to go dormant for the winter. Good luck finding the source.

A veterinarian told me that fleas jump on people's pant legs and can be brought in the house, then jump on pets to continue living. So maybe they aren't the normal type of fleas or something else?

Any family members who've recently visited, have pets? Or is there anyone else that your family has gone and visited?

Good luck getting rid of the little pests!

fleas are outside & can come in on your shoes, clothing, not just pets.
fleas have a short life cycle, so you have repeat treatment every few days for a couple of weeks to kill adults & hatching eggs.

you have sand fleas hun..... they are a *****! and bite and make you itchy!....sand fleas are harder to get rid of then standard fleas.....you need to get a good room spray ZODIAC makes a good one....then vaccume all your carpets along the walls and couch, chairs, beds, and anywhere's inbetween. wash all bedding and you will be fine.
