Mines MGA11M 1972 Opel Manta Blue Metallic - thought it was a Ferrari when my Dad brought it home in 1978!

My family always had one car that all eight of us piled into somehow.

The one that really sticks in my mind (I must have been younger than 5), was a sky blue 4 door Ford (has to be a Ford, since that is the ONLY brand of car my dad bought!) with really pretty TAIL FINS in back and long tail lights. (I thought that car was so pretty.)

KIJ1722 - on a blue Renault 14 TL, with bright orange/brown/blue seat cloth, from about 1978.
It replaced a grey Renault 5 TL that had a reg starting GIJ, but I never knew the numbers.

I was brought up in Northern Ireland - which still hasn't adopted year letters (as introduced in the rest of the UK between 1962 and 1965), never mind the newer half-year numbers.

DHD 5Y

A brown Austin Maestro. They bought it new on the day the car was launched. We went to France in it that year and the French didn't know what it was.

It was pants!

I bet the licence plate is worth a bit now though. (DADSY)
