I think he and Karina are seeing each other for publicity reasons - that's all. I don't think they're an item. The Gossip magazines try to make something out of everything. That's what sells magazines.
And, Mario is NOT gay for those who think he is.

They ARE dating according to the Hollywood Gossip magazines. They had pictures of them kissing on one of their outings on the show. he even brought her home to meet his family ona clip on Dancing with The Start---YES--they are an item.

It is hard to tell they look pretty tight and happy together. If one were to speculate I would say they are.
