When I was a kid, I used to say I had the feeling of impending doom. I do think maybe in the subsurface of our thinking brain there is a nagging problem, don't worry, it will eventually surface, then you will know what was making you uneasy and what to do about it.

Your "banner" question and your details seem to contradict one another to some extent. But then, that's not unusual for people who believe in psychology. LOL!

Seriously, if "something" is bothering or worrying you, then you know what that something is. But if you don't know what the reason is, or if there is no reason, that's something very different.

But I know what does not work: if you are feeling anxious, and you don't know why, it does not do any good to try guessing why. All that does is make you feel more anxious as you realize there are plenty of things in your life to worry about. Generally, if you are having an unfocused anxiety, it seems more appropriate to learn calming techniques such as yoga or meditation than to speculate on why you are anxious.

'Why worry about something that can be fixed? And if something cant be fixed, why worry?' Heard that in a movie the other day and thought it was cute and true. If you have a problem - divide and conquer. If you are experiencing overall tension and anxiety, try to slow down a bit, look at the areas of your life that are too stressfull, and make small changes to alleviate some of the pressure and/or to give yourself some rejuvination time. Even if it is something as small as taking a bubble bath, starting to excercise, or having a massage once a week.

Yes. I put it down to OCD to be honest because most of the time I'm worrying (or obsessing) about things that don't really matter - like thing's I HAVE to get done, even though most of the time, they're not that important. I find it really hard to relax when I think I've got things to do.

We all worry in one way or another whether we like it or not, but the best solution is to keep busy thus avoiding stress.
If you notice, we tend to worry more when we are idle.Whatever it is you will be worrying about, try and reassure yourself that you will solve it; if not, seek help from others; if its life threatening, then be happy as you will be going to your Maker.

the big things i worry about are:
my parents dying
being on my own
whether or not this is all there is to life..
the best way i have found to overcome these insecure moments is to just not think about them...
probaly not a very supported psycological method however it works for me... until i start thinking about them again ...

I always feel nervous, especially at work. Not that I don't do my job, but that I may forget something and get shouted at
