I'm kinda worried. For the last three or four days, every morning when I wake up I blow my nose and a little blood is mixed in. Also when I spit in the sink, blood comes out as well. It wasn't a lot though, until today. I was leaving the parking lot of my apartment building, and I hawked up and spit a large chunk of blood. I'm sorry this is nasty, but I'm kinda worried. The blood was like stuck together in a little ball.

Now the only things out of the ordinary this week, were that on last friday I did some cocaine. Actually a lot, large lines and stuff (I've never done that much and I won't again). And also I moved into a new apartment, so I'm thinking crazy like it has asbestos or something. Please some real advice, I know I should go see a doctor, but I wanna wait a little longer and see if it goes away.

Unless you want your nose to cave in, get off the coke.....this is what is causing your problem.....did you ever consider that this could kill you?

Firstly it will not be asbestos - not that it doesn't kill you but it takes a long time - years - to show its effects.

The symptoms you describe could be from TB but as your nose is also affected I don't think this is likely.

Blood in your snot can appear with a bad cold because the constant nose blowing etc abrades the tissues breaking tiny blood vessels, this is not serious. But coughing up blood should never be ignored. You have probably just irritated your membranes by your foolish use of cocaine but you should see a doctor asap in case it a) is not that, or b) is doing serious damage.

And for heaven's sake don't do it again. That rubbish can kill you.

Well, aside from warning you that cocaine will f**k up your nose permanently (which I am sure you are now realizing) there are other factors to consider. As the seasons change so does the air- inside and out. In your apartment- the heat may have been turned on. If you have forced hot air heating, this can be very destructive to your nasal passages as well. The constantly circulating hot air dries out your nasal passages very much. So if you have baseboard heating (no radiator) you might want to invest in a good humidifier. As for the coke- you are already seeing the results of a coke bender- and it only gets worse! Your nose gets weaker each and every time you burn it with that crap. Believe me- I am a child of the 70's and 80's and have had quite a few friends that have had to have their noses reconstructed due to it. So cut that crap out!!!

Blood is never a good thing to spew up. The "chunk" is called a clot. Could be stomach issues, could be lung issues. Could be drug use. See a doctor. Only they can tell you the cause. All I can say is, it's not the asbestos (doubt there is even any present). It's either drugs or cancer or some other form of disease.

Real advice is to go see your doctor right away. You might have bleeding nasal membranes or you might have a bleeding ulcer. Either way, go to a doctor. This is NOT a diagnosis. Only a doctor can do that but it's something that you should be concerned about with the cocaine. And it's bad for you. I hope you don't do it again.

I responded to your other question about asbestos before I saw this one. So now I'd say don't worry about the asbestos. I'd put money on the blood being from the coke. Better stop..it causes male impotence.

This is sad, but I have no sympathy for people who destroy their bodies with drugs. Stop trying to blame your condition on asbestos. Keep up the coke habit because obviously if it was that serious to you, you'd have gone to a doctor by now instead on logging on here asking complete strangers. Fool.

you prob tore up the mucus membranes of your nose and sinuses with the coke. Its crystalline and can do that...get some saline nasal spray, use as directed for a few days, lay off the coke. If the discharge gets green or otherwise nasty, and/or you get a temp, see a doc.

You can get some red blood in mucus if you have a cold. When you say "large chunk", how big was it (describe in terms of a penny).

Yeah, you need to see a doc. Coke users get abcesses in their nasal cavities/sinuses, which then turn into brain abcesses. Coke is a VERY dangerous drug. I'm with the others...I'm surprised that you're asking why you're getting bloody noses while you're doing cocaine. File this under "duh."
