For every minute late they are is how early they go to bed, or take that amount of time they are late from there video games, or any other electronic enjoyment they like. Good luck ~

Take away the stuff that they like the most, like t.v, computer, dvd's etc, you could say for this particular thing (being late) every 10 or 5 mins you are late = a day without you computer or t.v. You got the idea?? Also keep the grounding!!

The thing is when kids are grounded, it doesn't seem to bother them as much because they got so much stuff to do at home anyway, so by making this punishment feel like punishment they might get the picture!!

I strongly recommend that book by Dr John Rosemond - The New Parent Power.

Clearly your children dont take you seriously. Find out what their "currency" is... There is always something that is important to them, and when you start to "talk their currency" they will pay attention. And it is different for all children. For some it is pocket money, or sports, or visiting friends, or playstation, or TV, etc etc. Whatever you decide to remove as a privilege, remain consistent and dont give in to their demands.

Why are you letting an 11 & 7 year old go unsupervised? Haven't you ever heard of kid knappers or child molesters? Someone should report you to the authorities.

What are 7 and 11 year olds doing out on their own anyway? (the 11 year old is pretty close to being old enough, but not the 7 year old!)

Take away their tv, and radio time. Including any playstation games and dvd's etc, and ground them.
For every minute they are late, next time they are allowed out you make it that many minutes shorter on curfew, and maybe even bedtime could be earlier.
They obviously dont take you seriously on your rules, you dont have their respect.

come home late first time warning, come home late second time next time they go out they have to come home even sooner. Third time...well u dont go out anymore until mommy says u can. personally i feel that at these ages is too soon for them to be out on their own. how come u dont pick them up?? i think u give them WAY too much freedom.

First of all, why did they come home late? Was it school? Is this the first time? I wouldn't worry about ten minutes, I am ten minutes late all the time. Need more info.

if they cant abide by your rules dont let them out they may laugh but you need to be firm with them or they will give you a life of stress and worry tell them either they stick to the rules or they dont go out and you have to stick to it to show them who is the child and who is the parent good luck
