It was a pleasure watching Brent Spiner play the roles of both Data and his creator, Dr. Arik Soong, in Star Trek The Next Generation and Star Trek Enterprise, respectively.
I’ve tracked down some info on Wikipedia to understand the character origins.
Does anybody know how I can get the most comprehensive story of Dr. Soong and the origin of Data?
Which Star Trek episodes would I have to watch? Which series would I have to watch? And are there paperback adaptations of these storylines?

When Data went to his home world, where he first encountered LORE, his brother, was a good episode.
Gave good accounting of DATA and his " father".
Nothing in paperback or book form that I know of.
