About my new Photosmart 3 in 1?

I just bought a new HP Photosmart C4180 All-In-One and i have a question..
There is a small display monitor on it .. I think when i 1st opened it it automatically came up .. Now when i open/close it, it jst stays up and i have to push it down..
Is that the way to happen ? Or do i have to do smth ?

its a manual display, you have to lift it up and push it back down...have you been having any problems with it saying turn power off and on again?
