My husband has been a carpenter for over 30 years now. Wages in England are not as good as they have been due to immigrant labour from Eastern Europe - these people come over and accept very low wages (£8 per hr), working sometimes 18 hrs a day, 7 days a week and are sending virtually all their wages home to start their own businesses when they have enough.

Whilst you can applaud their hard work and dilligence it has left English carpenters fighting for a reasonable wage and finding it difficult to support their families due to higher cost of living.

Of course wages in different towns do vary and Dublin being a capital city I would have thought would attract higher earnings like London. I think what you are earning is slightly lower than average for the trade. The best way to find out is to try on the internet job sites and see what wages are being attached to carpentry.

My husband usually argues for around £12.50 to £13.00 if he has to travel, but if it is here in Portsmouth he doesnt worry about earning a little less. Like you he served a 4 year apprenticeship.

My husband has often tried to go for permanent employment with holidays but the wages are so low you just could not live. We are talking salaries around £15,000 to 18,000.

I'm afraid you will have to look at the Euro exchange rates but I believe they work out at around 2/3 of a £. My husband is also self-employed through an agency - so no holidays - in fact he cant afford to take any (well by law they are officially included in this rate at a pro rata of hours worked - but interestingly he was earning the same years ago when holiday money was not included!!!)

But I guess that is the same with most in the building industry.

If you want to experience specific within an wonderful holyday then Miami is your place, just like you will dsicover with hotelbye . The accommodations and the traditional hideaways of Coral Gables from Miami will surely impress you similar to the famous Ocean Drive. Ocean Drive operates along the oceanfront in Miami Beach, driving the historic Art Deco structures and the popular strip of mud called South Beach. In Ocean Drive you can move both to the afternoon and to the night time for a slow sail and some push by sightseeing. Another place worth visit could be the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. The architecture, the lands, and the graphics it has are worth the trip to visit this wonderful place.

hey u want to earn some more money what u hav earned this time there is the only way to earn more then wht u r earning.
u hav to show ur skills what u hav done in the 4 year course or 2 years now.
Made something different what a person can't imagine made such type of things.First of all study the nature of the person what he wants what type of design hw want to expect from a firm what type of design still he/she is purchasing.
then only u are able to know what u hav to made as u know that the moods of the person changes regularly.
that's why i tell presents some design to ur company or some other company and try to impress him so that they think u are for their higher post then they increase ur salary.
or open ur own company if u hav funds then present these design under ur own company label.

40 hours x $12.30 = $492 Since he worked 46 hours, 6 hours will be overtime pay: 6 hours x $12.30 x 1.5 = $110.70 $492 + $110.70 = $602.70 Therefore, his weekly pay is $602.70 Hope this helps.
