When I had this problem, it was due to a build up of natural dirt that gets caught in the little hairs inside your ear that cannot be naturally cleaned out by your body. My doctor put drops in my ears, did a test where they got me to lay down and turned my head side-to-side (which made me sick to my stomach) and it came loose and so far so good.

Losing your balance or feeling dizzy can be caused by one of the following:
1) ear infection
2) low blood sugar
3) low blood pressure
4) bad shoes...!
I'd suggest seeking out a doctor's opinion. And also, just being careful and sitting and standing up slower
