Ridiculous, out of control, just plain goofy.

Christian conservative former number 2 at the Office of Faith Based Initiatives tells all in new book.

Thank you a lot for this post.

My party is really turning out to be the party of pervs and hypocrits. Sigh.... Perhaps there will be a few left on November 8th but it's looking grimmer and grimmer by the day. Tomorrow Hastert may be exposed as the next pedophiliac fall guy in our party... I"m thinking of converting to a Democrat...

That doesn't appear to be a major thing - it seem the political strategists may call them that, but it is evident that Bush, Ashcroft and Bennet would probably be included in the 'nuts' groupings because of their strong beliefs.

I don't necessarily like the strategists' actions - they are seemingly cynical and manipulative - on both sides of the aisle. I bet the Democrat strategists call the Cindy Sheehan wing a lot of names, too. Same with the Anti-globalists, enviro-wankers and race pimps - they may be pulled into the fold, but they are hardly respected.

This is the ugly side of politics. The side where people like toe-sucking Dick Morris and the reptilian James Carville come from.

Interesting article... A sound reason for 3rd and 4th parties... BOTH current parties have to court the extreme of their party for votes and cash.

Personally I call the Extreme-Right knuts TOO !!

Yeppers, I was registered Republican on my 18th birthday... then was annoyed, nervous, and eventually outraged as the Evangelical "right" took control of the party. I remain registered, but vote with my mind & heart.

I'm a FISCAL republican, Ex-Navy,... but also a Californian with an eye towards Environmentalism, Pro-Choice, and sensible Gun-Control.

Typical Republicans. Vote Independent!

I don't think you have to be Republican to sneer at and call some evangelicals "nuts" behind their backs! Or to their faces! Extremists often makes their choices based on personal belief, not fact or common sense, which is dangerous and yes, nutty!

I think its great. Freedom to express yourself. I think those far right-Bible bangers (most hypocrites) are just as far out of line as the far left socialist libs (also hypocrites). I am a conservative Christian--but there ARE nuts on both ends of the political spectrum.

I'm a Christian and recognize the problems the "evangelicals" are cuasing. That word doesn't mean what it used to. They spend more time in the business of others than they do in the word of God. Jesus studied daily, what makes them think they know more than him?
I agrree with thomasno... they are a better choice for Christians than the Democratic party.

I really don't care what they do behind my back, as long as they do what we elected them to do. We are not foolish enough to think that all republicans agree with our faith. At least they aren't trying to deny our rights like the libs and the aclu terrorist group.

Bill Clinton always called the people who voted for him: "Big City Hicks".

But name calling by anyone doesn't mean much.
People don't pay any attention to it. And proves little.
