okay looking back in history .Have not men all ways carried some sort of bag . On antiques roadshow someone had this WALLET You might have thought it was a womens .. it was a mans .. bright beads really flamboyant . Just because a man has a bag he is deemed gay by our society... Its kinda mean . Yeah some of the bags people carry are ugly ..I have seen purses that are soo ulgy... But I do think that men deservethe right to be organized and as professional as they like, or to carry a bag to make their lives easier .. Yeah I say that the bags are going with the times because we are hopefully loosing the sterotype of the thought of a guy being gay when seen with a bag. But I think that the sterotype of a gay man with a bag came from the fact that they had more fashoin sense than most people and saw a need and had nothing to loose so they utilized something they needed to make their lives easier. going with the times

Very utile. Whether it is gay or not would depend on the man carrying it and his reasons for doing so. Is there that much difference between a manbag and a briefcase?

I don't like the tone of your question. Where are we headed? Are you saying that society is somehow being undermined because men are carrying bags? Are you envisioning a world in 10 years time where humanity has disintegrated because of increased use of an accessory? Grow up!

And why does the word "gay" come into it? I am gay and so are a lot of people I know. None of us carries a "man" bag, and I am yet to see ANYONE with one to be honest! Don't lose any sleep over the matter will you honey?

Certainly battered, satchel style manbags look cool in a studenty sort of way. Ultimately depends on the type of bag - they often look more relaxed and less pretentious than briefcases.

If by 'gay' you mean utterly fantastic, functional and cool, than I'd have to say that manbags are the epitome of gay

In the 17th/18th Century men carried pockets around with them that often looked like handbags. But I must admit it does look a bit gay nowadays.

A) Homosexuals aren't the only ones who carry bags

B) I think fashion changes all the time, so each bag needs to be looked at in context.

Hi >
I am "straight", but have always, well, since teens, used a shoulder-bag or similar.
And why not. Bloomin' handy items for all your gubbins..
Better than pocket loads of cash, wallet, hip-flask, paper reminding you to buy something, tobacco & lighter.
The list of stuff goes on. Why not use a sensible bag thing?

Bob.
