passive verbs are like past tence verbs like a passive sentence would be "bob was chosen by sarah." the passive verb here is chosen. the subject of a passive verb does not act. like this sentence for example bob is the subject he is not choosing there for he is not acting umm now "the dog ran to the store" is an active centence. the dog is the subject and he ran. understand? the dishes are washed. <----passive. now first person is talking about yourself.i and we would be first person i ran to the store. we ran to the store. now she he it they are all second person i hope this helps

Passive sentences have the verb 'to be' in them. It seems a lot of you accidentally got that.

You can say something like: It has been decided that you did not get the job. A sentence like that is passive because it avoids directness, a non-passive voice would be more direct and say, I have decided to let you go. Companies use passive voice when they don't want to lay claim to the problems that arise.

The first persoN is when you are talking. e.g. I AM GOING TO THE SHOP, or, WE ARE GOING TO THE SHOP.
A passive verb is one that receives. e.g. The dog was led by the girl.
The active verb would be: The girl led the dog.
So, in the first sentence,' led' is a passive verb.
