Yes it's a guy thing, but a jealous guy thing. Tell your friend to get out now, because that is the way it starts. The controlling that might seem cute now, will not be as she gets older. Tell her to dump the loser before they go any further. Believe me I am married to the boy who started acting like that when we were young and he now is a very very jealous man and it's not fun or cute. It gets old.

Sounds like he is acting like a sulky child! My best friends ex was always jealous of me and even tried to ban my friend from seeing me! She did not tell me this until she had left him, did not want me to be piggy in the middle. He was only happy when I dated his friend for a while, like I suddenly had a valid reason for being around him! Trust me, men like this don't last long! Your friend will see in the end that friendship is stronger than men like him! Just be patient and don't get involved in any arguments they have, just be a good friend! your patience will pay off in the end! x

the majority of women as well as men struggle with the notion of plutonic friendship between the opposite sex but it can work,,personally speaking,it took one and a half years for my husband,(b/f at the time) to actually admit he no longer saw 'something' that really wasnt there,,some friends are very close and jealousy is normal when you feel threatened by another man even if there is nothing to see,no matter how hard you try and find it,,,time will tell,do whatever it is that keeps your friendship going,,be it respect, enjoying each others company, shared interests but do be aware that some contact ,,if seen as overly touchy may cause her problems,,at least until you are accepted as just a friend, dont give him anything to worry over and try to talk to him just as you do her,,he will get over it or he may not but if you just try to get on without causing trouble for her it is doubtful your friendship wont last,,he may not but friends are usually in it for the long haul,,,only you know if this is true.

its a ******** thing,

if he is jealous of a girl then imagine how he would be over a male friend. guys like this are trouble, but dont try and tell your friend this because she will fall out with you, just be there for her when this goes wrong (cos it will).

Emotions are what we live by...ugly emotions such as "really jealous" are not good for a relationship and will cripple it eventually... Caring for someone crosses the line when it becomes and obsession and wanting to own them... it usually show a real insecurity on your partners behalf.

Yes it is they either resent you as a person or actually fancy you but obviously can't let you know that so they don't know how to react and its generally in a negative way. Just let him get on with it and hopefully she is a best friend to not let him get in the way of your friendship

No it is often the other way around. Is he jealous of your relationship with your friend? Is there more going on?

It goes either way, he's just mad because you two like to spend time together and he may feel he takes a back seat to you or that your a bad influence on your friend.
