They are on 2 different planets. The 16yo hasn't even graduated. The 29 yo is in the middle of a career (hopefully). He has had more life experiences than she can imagine. They think differently, act differently, have different dreams and aspirations. A 16 yo wants to date and graduate, a 29 yo wants a new car, to travel, have a great home, and go out for a casual good time. The relationship might work if she was 23 or 24 but not now.

It's not weird, younger girls get crushes on older guys all of the time. However, he is way too old for her (at least at this point in time in her life). There's nothing wrong with her having the crush, but for them to pursue it would be wrong.
Remind her that if she was to get into any kind of relationship with him he would more than likely want sex, and that could end in jail time for him. If she really cares for him she won't want that to happen.
Also try asking her what they could possibly have in common. Have her sit down and really think about it. You might also want to try to introduce her into some guys that are closer to her age.
Good luck

I would say untill she is 18 he is way to old for her. If he feels like he needs a 16 year old then probably hasn't got much to be proud of.

My mom was 17 when she started dating my dad, he was 28. I still think that's disgusting personally lol. But they've been married over 25 years and are still in love. I think no one over 18 should be looking at minors that way personally.

"AGE DOESN'T MATTER.." as the usual saying goes.. You know what? in our school, (exclusive school for girls), we don't have boys to like and we don't have neighboring schools around, so we tend to have crushes on our 22-48 yrs. old teachers! and we are like 12-17 yrs old!! Think about that! and Some rumors are spreading that a 27 yr. old teacher is courting his 16 yr. old student. Eeew..

Not only weird but illegal. He could get in alot of trouble dating her. However if she and he are really in love they should be able to wait till she is 18 to prusue a true relationship.

Not only is he too old, but if they are having sex then he is guilty of rape and could spend the next 20 years of his life in prison!
