You're bodies growing faster than your skin. It's normal and happens to most teenagers. Why'd you say "girls only"? I'm a guy and it's happaned to me.

I would say it has something to do with your growth.
Most people get them at some stage of their life.
Use a product called Bio Oil, its fantastic, if you can get hold of it. My Daughter recently had her first baby and she is quite a petite little thing, she used this product all during her pregnancy. The baby weighed over 10lbs and she hasn't one stretch mark on her body.
It also reduces the appearance of old stretch marks, but maybe it will prevent new ones if you re both having a growth spurt right now.

Have you lost or gained weight recently? That is the main cause for stretch marks - the elasticity of the skin is damaged by the change. I've heard that Palmers' cocoa butter is supposed to be good for the stretch marks, or you could check & see some of the maternity products guarantee to reduce the appearance of the stretch marks.

If you girls have been dieting and loosing weight this could be a factor. Or your body could just be changing to help with your maturity. Don't worry about it. I m 33 with 14 and 16 year old kids I am COVERED in stretch marks!!! LOL you'll get used to them.

Mmhmm, stretch marks SUCK big time! Perhaps you've had a significant growth spurt? Odd for them in the same place... must be a twin thing? Lol :P

i agree with all the others, your body is growing taller and your skin hasnt had time to produce new skin that will commidate with your growth spurt. no need to worry about it. if you dont like it there are special creams out there that can reduce the amount of stretch marks you have on your body

This happens to both male and female, but women tend to see it more because of the stress our bodies endure (childbirth) you must understand our bodies change the older we get and because you are still young ou shouldn't worry about it, if its not to bad start rubbing vitamin E oil on everyday and you will notice it will get lighter and start to fade.

mk...

realize as you get older your body is growin.. when your insides are growing, it has to stretch the skin.. im 17 also, and im a size one and i have stretch marks too... around my (butt, and thighs) it IS really embarrassing.. but its not abnormal.. things like that happen... its extremely normal.. almost all girls from size 1-whatever get it!

yep, it happens to the best of us! just wait til you do get pregnant! those tiny little stretch marks you're worried about today will open up ito giant gullies...the skin is already prone to it so go ahead get used to the idea...sorry..
