The "world" is not coming to an end, only this corrupt system of things. The earth was created to last forever and we can read that promise @ Ecclesiastes 1:4: "A generation is going, and a generation is coming, but the earth IS STANDING EVEN TO TIME INDEFINITE." Another encouraging scripture is Isaiah 45:18 which says "for this is what Jehovah has said. The Creator of the heaens. The the true God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it. He the ONe who firml established it, WHO DID NOT CREATE IT SIMPLY FOR NOTHING.

As for the end of this system of things we know it is close because of the prophecies in Matthew chapter 24 and 2 Tim. 2:1-5 are being fulfilled as we speak. This "end" will not be brought about by anything humans do, such as the start of a nuclear war. It is act of God.

We had all this in the 80's with the Cold war, I grew up thinking that we might be bombed at any moment. It might happen it might not, there is no point wasting time worring about it.

There is a posibility of a nuclear explosion somewhere on the planet in the next few years/decades the more that the technology get readily assesable. It won't mean the end of the world if a bomb does go off somewhere. It might make condtions harder in which ever country it happens in, but hopefully it will make the world question using the bomb again.

The bombs in Japan in the 40's were enough to question their useage again but that was a long time ago and those in power now don't remeber the devistation caused.

Then the world would have ended before you were born, because the US was testing nukes from the mid 40s for decades, the Russians from 1950 for decades, not to mention the UK and France.
They'r e just tests

Survival of 4500 millions of years cannot be taken away by one of the many countries avialable making nuclear tests. What about people who are having better nuclear capabilities but consider their possessing huge piles of weapon is not a danger!
The world will survive this and many more and see the people moving to other planets bidding bye to it.

No need to worry. it is test for development of science for example man invented knife or sharp edge in ancient period may be at the time he having fear of it going to use only killing others but later he used in different way. Hence it will not end the world only we are in developing.

I don't think we are capable of destroying the earth yet. We are probably capable of wiping out a large percentage of the people and other living things on the planet. Mass extinction has happened before, though. So I think life would come back again.
