When you read history many of the famous dictators have similar personality traits as many prominent figures of the modern world. Won't mention names or i'll probably be lynched.

I don't think all dictators have similar personalities. For example Napoleon has an inspiration to expand and glorify his country and self esteem. Hitler planned to exterminate the Jews and to create Araian nationalism. Id Amin was a hypocrat egaged in destroying his own citzen for nothing but for the sake of his barbarian need. The same is true for dictatorial leaders in the backward world. Some achieved remarkable fame, others commited historical crime.

Never in history can we find the leader of a democracy that imposes a war in spite of the opposition of the majority of the nation's citizens, and the world!
If that isn't a dictator, I don't know what else is...

Yes there are. But remember they are personality traits as you so rightly said. Its the circumstances that decide whether such a leader will become a dictator or not.
