We may have a stable economy but most people are in very heavy finacial debt worst in europe, surely this will be trouble in the future?

Unemployment may be low, but thats just because the gov. has increased people not needed in the civil service! People just get paid to do nothing, i know my sister did it for a year at DEFRA. And its us taxpayers that pay higher and higher taxes + stealth taxes to support these 'jobs'.

Anyway these 2 things are the only redeeming features i can think of the labour givernment and even they don't seem genuine.

Unemployment is so low because once they put anyone on benefits on to a training scheme or any other scheme they come off the employment register. They are still unemployed and claiming benefits. This is a ploy used by most governments to say "hey, look what we've done to the unemployment figures". If they counted the real number of unemployed the figures would be double the amount of what they are showing. Possibly more.

Our economy is far from stable but the government would never allow this to be leaked. They say that everybody (man, woman & child) is around £3k in debt. How many millions of us are there? The debt figures are scary and the Bank of England will play their trump card in the next few months. Interest rates will start rising and this is when we see houses being repossed and more and more people going bankrupt.

It's a shite government but no party will be able to change what is going to happen.

If our great Potentate has saved any jobs , they must be a very guarded secret unless you count the jobs he has given out to his ( brown shirts ACORN ) and his SS ( The Czars. His policies follow that of a certain man in Germany in WWII . He promised change too for everyone and he definitely changed the world for eveeryone. Lower taxes I really agree with you is the thing to do to get the economy freed up some so people would have some money to spend , and not end up paying an unfair , unconstitutional tax to the IRS, but that ain't happening on this Potentate's watch.

The main problem emerging for the UK is the growing levels of unemployment and concealed unemployment. The jobless totals have been rising for the last two years. The number officially out of work stands at 1.68 million. If you factor in most of the people on disability benefit who would like a job and could do one, and those on other benefits like single parent benefit who would also like to find employment, we discover that there are a staggering 5 million people in the UK without jobs. The Chancellor himself believes that many of those on disability and single parent benefit should find jobs, and has developed elaborate programmes to bring this about. He is proving, yet again, that government programmes cannot overcome deeper seated obstacles to job creation in a modern economy.

Unemployment is only "low" because people are being forced to take shitty low paid jobs because there aren't any decent ones out there!

I know loads of people, some of whom very highly qualified, working in call centres, shops, MaccyD's, pubs, restuarants etc. They can't pay their studentloans and overdrafts back on the shite wages. they have to borrow to pay the basics of living and then get into massive debt.

And then we have the added inidignity of lefties telling us we "need" shitloads of Poles coming here to fill "jobs we won't do". WHAT the F*ck?!?!?!?!?

These aresholes need to get REAL!

the government employes civil servants in the presumption that to render qualified public service that can facilitate the production and service sectors. In addition the government has a responsibility to protect the safety of the nation or the country. This is the reason that civil servants are employed in governmental sectors not these sectors are generated for the purpose of employment.

In this regard the effective and efficient accomplishments of government duties promote prosperity and safety and in this process econmic productivity and stability will be achieved.

They've introduced the minimum wage...who else ever gave a sh*t ? Soaring personal debt is very difficult for a Govt to control as it is our irresponsible spending that is to blame. They have tried to tackle the Health Service (with mixed results), they have tried to improve education (some good results). I don't think they have done too badly...apart from Iraq which is a bloody nightmare.

People are in debt because they take out credit. Tony Blair does not appear at their door and force them to take out several credit cards. They do it themselves, so it is not a government problem. People need to learn self control.
