Can you get pregnant while on the Contraceptive Pill??

Yes.. I have a 13 year old and a 4 year old to prove it. Different pill each time.
There are many different things that can affect the pills effectiveness. With my first child, the Dr. switched pill brands and strengths and never told me that after switching you have to wait 1 month for it to become effective.
With the 4 year old, it just didn't work.

I would be safe and always use another method.

It is possible to become pregnant whilst on the pill as it is not 100% effective, and there are alot of things that can effect how well a contraceptive pill works.

Have you been on antibiotics? Were you sick (throwing up, runny tummy) this past month? Did you miss a pill or were you very late in taking one? If yes to any of these, the pill becomes much less effective. Even if these problems only effected one day and one tablet, you are unprotected from pregnancy for a week. So if you had sex in that time, you could well be pregnant.

The best thing for you to do is reread the literature that comes with the type of pill you are on, and to speak with your doctor.

With all that in mind, if you did not have any complications with taking your pill, and you feel that you should be fully covered from becoming pregnant, it is highly unlikely that you are actually pregnant. But like I said, it never hurts to speak with your doctor, OR to take a test.

YES, sorry...it happens. The pill is not 100% effective. Use a condom increases effectivity.

Very rarely, it is only 99% safe i think. Also if you have had an upset stomach or been taking anti biotics this can affect the way it works!

yes, no form of birth control is 100% effective accept abstinince. But I'm not promoting that...lol go out have fun but it is always wise to use two forms of birth control.
