When choosing between these two I seem to get it wrong every time.
Maybe it should be both ?
What do you think ?

For me, I suppose I'd rather pick Godiva chocolates--but that's only if those are the only two choices.

My husband listens when I talk about things and comes up with ideas from that. Example: I was dissappointed when I couldn't find my favorite perfume at any of the local stores. He searched the internet and ordered it for me. Or, if he sees that my favorite author has a new book, he'll surprise me with it (he knows my favorite author). He's framed pictures and poems that are special to me. He's surprised me with CD's of my favorite music, detailed my car then left a sweet note on the steering wheel, and he's given me a DVD with my favorite movie. All of these things require that he listen and remember when I say that something is my favorite. The thing that endears his gifts to me most isn't the gift itself but knowing that he takes the time to know me and remember what I like.

If you're looking for some creative ideas, these are some really good books on the subject:

I think it's the thought that counts, and as long as you are trying to be sweet, you are. :) Exactly what you get your girlfriend is besides the point. Different personalities have different tastes anyway, so you just have to try your best to guess what your girlfriend would like the most.

I guess it all depends on personal taste. Know the individual first. Sometimes, just a nice card is best...where you can share your thoughts.
