I don't care if you are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, transsexual, tri-sexual, non-sexual, whatever classification you want to claim.
That is one movie worth watching.
My mother watched it and CRIED, and CRIED. It is an outstanding movie. I am glad the parents agreed to making the movie.
I think it was Pride of 2003 maybe 2004. There was this church group at the corner with signs that read, "Thank God Matthew Shepard is in HELL." and other comments like that. We were instructed that there were people on the corner with negative comments. We were not to pay them any attention, or make any kind of comments back to them. (this was walking in the parade that I am talking about.)
You talking about being PISSED off. I was OUTRAGED. I could not even put it into words how ill I was to see that. I guess you could say I took a direct defense to the comments.
I just hope and pray that what happened to Matthew Shepard never ever happens to another person. It is SICK to know that there are people out here that will kill someone else. Just because they do not "APPROVE" of someone lifestyle.
I think what needs to happen. There needs to a homosexual male that kills a heterosexual male just because he got two different females pregnant. I don't know. Maybe it will open everybody's eyes. Instead of saying oh well it was just a ****** that got killed.

Yes, no human being deserves to be tourtured, hung up on a fence and left for dead!
That's just the most cruel thing anyone can do to another human being. Gay or not, Matthew should be a shinning example of how NOT to treat our fellow human beings!
Melissa Etheridge wrote a very compelling song entitled: "Scarecrow" that still makes me cry and get very angry...to this day.
Matthews parents have been so strong and loving since their child's horrific murder. They are the true definition of what a real "Christian" is! They actually pleaded for the lives of their son's murderers!
Matthew's father wanted them to live LONG lives so they would ALWAYS be haunted by what they had done to another living person!
That is their hell on Earth that they must live with!

I didn't know Matthew Shepard personally, but he was murdered for being gay at the same time I was coming out. It was extremely sad. And gave you mixed feelings of wanting to crawl back into the closet and curl up in the fetal position; and wanting to make a difference by being who you are, and educating people to try to prevent other tragedies.

Poor Matt. He was the perfect proof that we are a very primitive species with little tolerance for others that are not exactly like us.
Tragedies like the Mathew Shepard story remind us just how animal-like we really are.
Perhaps we will evolve out of this trait before we destroy ourselves.

I have, and everyday I wonder how much farther-or closer-we're getting away from that mind frame. People are so full of hate and ignorance, it's a wonder vigilantes haven't come back into society yet.

Olga Love the hair! Will you help me with mine in hell? Yes I have. Very terrible and we should make a holiday out of it just to remind people of their hate and intolarance!

Basically, I don't know him. I just searched this name in Google, found out what happened to him. Its very inhumane to the people who did that! Its not a sin to be in his situation!

I know of him and the tragedy that happened in Wyoming. Kind of makes you look at how far we need to go for total acceptance
