Fix a chain to it, and then around a lamp post. Then just lay some rubber down, and hey presto - no towbar.

If you don't want to use it just remove the ball that all that sticking out the back and that's only 2 off 16 mm bolts and just bolt the light plug back or tape it to the other parts under the car of the tow bar.

Have a look under theback of the car and see how the whole thing is attached to the chassis. I would disagree with anyone saying it will be welded in - towbars are always an extra-fit item on a new car and are fitted as and when required by the customer.
I stripped a '94 Mondeo estate a couple of years back, sold the towbar on eBay for £40. I'd advise you do the same with yours once you get it off. A simple socket set with an extension bar - those nuts will be tight in order to keep a caravan attached - and a can of WD-40 will enable you to get it off in a couple of hours max.
Don't forget to add liberal amounts of grunting and swearing as this always helps to release stiff bolts...

Are you referring to the tow hitch? They are just bolted on and easy to remove. Sometimes the bolts can freeze up but just using a breaker bar and spraying a little "blaster" or other bolt lubricant will generally do the job. Impact wrench would be the easiest method.

Some tow bars are fitted at the factory and are part of the chassis. Others are bolted on afterwards. It depends which type you have.
