Test smarts:

Many teachers give tests that enable you to take good tests
without knowing the answers. Pick and choose what you can use:

1) The answer will "sound better" than the other choices. It'll match verbs, plural/singular, etc. If you're good in English you can easily choose what answer makes the best sense for the sentence if it's multiple choice.

2) Often answers are in another part of the test. So....read through the test before answering it, skim through the sections in case you've got a word bank that triggers your memory, or skip questions you don't know to go back to after you've completed the test. Mental blocks happen. Don't waste time and increase your anxiety staring at a question you can't answer at that time.

3) Always rule out choices. It may be easier to pick the right answer if you've ruled out 2 choices that are obviously not right.

Easier ways to learn (for me):
1) Repitition. Flash cards.

2) Have family/friends quiz you, giving you the question and asking for the answer first, then when you think you've got it down, giving you the answer and having you tell them the question or key facts.

3) VOCABULARY: focus only on key words. How each word is different from the others. and of course, know if it's a noun, action verb, etc. That will help you place it in a fill-in-the-blank easier.

4) Highlight topic sentences of important paragraphs. Those sentences will hold your most "test worthy" questions.

5) Make outlines of chapters. Especially for step by step procedures, lists of characteristics, or other types of lists.

Good luck!!!

Dear Friend Anjali,
Your question is very common to all but as I am a college student so I can say a very simle thing about it that if you work hard then there is no other easiest method, simply concentrate on learning and clearing concepts then you find that you will get, autometically good marks.

Read your text. Highlight the important points. Rewrite them in your own words. Dont try to study if too tired, hungry, etc. Have the window open and do some deep breathing. Get plenty of sleep & revise your notes before bed.

Just get a passing grade on it. Try to remember 55% of the questions and there you go. Unless you plan on going on to university and getting 99 in every class, just worry about passing. School is a lie. And you will learn that when you get older - that it is a business. Just do what you gotta do to get the hell out of there...

First have faith in yourself that you can do it.Be systematic and punctual in your efforts.Have a time table and try to stick to it.Most of the time it is not possible to do so but you can always give it a go.Try to solve as many old question papers as you can so that you get feel of the exam and will not be surprised in the main exam.Had you mentioned your level of standard.that is which standard you are it would have helped.

i found flash cards worked really well for me..
what i would do is get those recipie cards (you can get them from a dollar store)
and if i had to know a bit about about something.. i'd write something on the front.. and all the details i needed to know about it on the back.. :)
then i'd just go threw the set of cards.. seperating the ones i knew from the ones i needed to work on :)
