i always thought there was some kind of freedom in the usa, but nowadays there is so many things which you cannot do.
when you go to europe, there is always a place, where you can
- smoke in the restaurant - drink on the streets - party during entire night in da club or disco
- go to the beach topless - drive a car in "normal" speed, not in the slow motion - no censorship on TV in any way !!!
Im not saying its good, Im just thinking its kinda ironic, such a democratic country (usa), but so many rules you have to obey.
Was it always like this ?
On the other hand, there is plenty of great things in the USA, no doubt about it, but you know.

With the tyrant Bush in the White House, then I regretfully have to say the answer is yes. He's slowly turning this country into his own personal police-state. And about our constitutional rights that we've enjoyed for over 200 years, that's slowly going down the drain because of his post-9/11 policies. It's his freaking incompetence that's causing all of this to happen before our very eyes! And the everyday things we're doing now, well, that's going out the window now as I finish answering this question. I suggest you see for yourselves! After 230 years of democracy in America, it's time to kiss that goodbye and say hello to the police-state!!!!!!!!

I see people blaming the Conservatives but;
Censorship on TV = conservatives
Smoking banned in public= Liberals
Party all night in most cities?= both parties
Speed limits= both parties

Police State? Lets see, I can't pray in school, that sounds like Russia during Stalin,
Must be Politically correct and say nothing that might offend, So much for freedom of speech, sounds like Communism
Ban private ownership of guns, sounds like Nazi's with Hitler
Wanting religion removed from every day life. Let's see, Stalin, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Mien, Mao?
Killing unwanted children , kinda' like Communist China?
Wow, almost sounds to me that the Liberals are the ones wanting a police state, but that wouldn't be politically correct to say would it?

As a nation grows old, it becomes sober and takes time to act. America is a new world and is dashing in action. The Europe, because of its maturity allow things to settle for themselves. Americans believe in change by law. No exception in the implementation of the laws.

No way is europe in an anarchic state. If anything the new anti terror laws are quite draconian but nothing as bad as the US (from what we see anyway)
