I have a 1991 Chev. Caprice it runs smooth but I have 1 problem... The car has way too much power! If I dont watch the speed I find myself going over 100 mph when the gas peddel is only a quarter depressed. How do I fix the car so it runs more like my V W ?

sounds like your a lead foot young driver to me.14 speeding tickets(1-14 over) would be 28points here in michigan (anything above 15 over limit is a court case here).12points being the limit to be allowed to drive. You had best sell the car and use the money to buy something slower and safer.I think you may end up riding a bus .Continuing on a path with that car you may put your life in grave danger(voice of experience I crashed a car drag racing at 115mph on a local hwy back when I was a teen new licensed driver I was almost killed I blew a tire and rolled it). Also if your caprice has a 350 it may be a vett engine most caprices with a v-8 were 305 engines(I owned one)the 350's were put in the police or detectives cars but not with turbo's.I don't know if it was available as an orderable engine when new to the public but the police did have them .But most caprices with a V-8 that I know of were only 305's otherwise.

Give it to someone who appreciates, and can handle the power. If u want a vw buy a vw. Oh you are coming off a little like a girl by the way

This question is good and you are not going to like any of the answers. Just put a large spring on the gas peddle so you will need both feet to get it up to 100mph.

HA HA HA HA! Sell the car to someone who appreciates it for what it's worth, and buy yourself a little k-car or something. Caprice's are supposed to have power! If you didn't want a powerful car, you shouldn't have bought one. I mean, for example, who buys a corvette, and then whines that it goes too fast?? Thanks for the laugh! I needed it.....

you need cruise control or you could pull 4 spark plug wires and have a 4 cylinder motor like your vw but it wont run good so i think you need throttle control you just need to get used to the car

lab is right put a heavier throttle spring on and it will be harder to push the pedal, you could also put a block of wood under the gas pedal, good luck

ARE YOU SERIOUS? There's never too much power! it's obvious you're doing that on the interstate! Use your cruise control then you wont have to worry about it.
