I wish I could learn not to love so hard but I would not want to be without it. I think love is beautiful & should be shared.

If you mean, "Can people live without feeling love for a partner or spouse?" then yes, they can but it would be a fair bet that any relationships would not be totally happy and probably wouldn't last for very long. I think you feel in love with someone when you feel perfectly at ease and "at home" with them, you want to be with them and you have no doubts about their feelings for you.
