What about some of the job agencies in town? They might have some part time jobs, maybe even in the Salford area? Have you checked the bars in the city center? Just go there and ask around, or even bars whereever you live. There are so many students in Manchester, that it is really difficult to get something. All this travelling doesn't seem worth it to be honest, you will loose precious time. If you take the job for the meantime and keep looking for something better whilst working there, that seems to be a good way around it.

I would take the job. You are an adult now. Responsibilities come with being an adult. Although you may not have too many bills at the moment, you will later in life, and it is best you prepare yourself for that now. Look at it this way.

Pros:
1. You'll have a job.
2. You'll have money.
3. You could save your money for a car so you wouldn't have to take the bus.
4. You'll meet new people
5. You'd be able to say that you do things on your own.
6. You'll be able to have just as much fun as your buddies when you guys go out, without having to borrow money
7. If you go out on a date, you'll be able to pick up the tab.
8. It'll probably make you feel better.

Cons??
1. You'll have to take 2 buses to get there.

Now, sit down and do this yourself. What I wrote was only an example. After you've wrote them all for each side, weigh your options. Do you need a job? Would it be helpful? Would you feel better about yourself? Is there anything particular that you've been wanting?

After you ask yourself these questions, you should have your answer. Good luck with everything. I hope I could be of some help to you.

just a few observations: your misspelling of university shows poor work habits; your use of the wrong preposition 'on drama courses' should be 'in drama courses' shows a lack of basic English grammar knowledge. you should work on these and other problems if you hope to get a good job. re: the current job offer, my advise is, that if the job has a future, you should forget about the inconvenience. good luck.

Simple really:
a) will the work and travelling leave you enough study time?
b) Does the work pay for the travelling?
c) Do you have enough money not to work?

If you can answer those questions honestly to yourself, it should then be obvious what you should do.
