You don't bathe them. You go to the store- wal-mart, k-mart, any pet store and get either rabbit bath wipes or cat bath wipes. They are sorta like diaper wipes, but thicker and have special soap and stuff on them. You just use a cloth or two and wipe the rabbit down and it will be clean and smell good.

Bunnies don't usually need to be bathed, in fact, bathing them can make them sick, because they're not accustomed to being wet and cold - it's very bad for them.

If you occasionally need to wash your bunny's fur, for example if she has had diarrhoea, the best idea is to place a clean towel on the ground, say in the kitchen or bathroom, and saturate the towel with luke-warm water (not hot and never cold water - cold water can put a bunny into shock) and then place your bunny on the towel, let the water soak into her, and massage her grubby areas gently but firmly with the wet towel until she's clean.

If that isn't getting her clean enough, in unusual circumstances, you can also give her a 'mini' bath, but only in about one inch, two centimetres of luke-warm water (not hot and never cold water). It's also best to do this in a container on the floor, because rabbits hate water, and she will probably try to jump out of the water. So be VERY careful that she doesn't jump out suddenly and injure herself, don't take your eye off her for one second while she's around the water.

Not only shouldn't you bath your bunny it can actually send your bunny into shock. Rabbits are very clean and take good care of themselves for the most part.

Sometimes rabbits will have a problem and get poop stuck on their butt (lovingly called "poopy butt"). If this happens you will want to figure out why it is happening and here is an article about bathing your bunny's bottom should it be necessary:

Both sites also have good information on rabbit care

Many pet shops sell shampoo for animals like rabbits etc. I believe that it's a type of wash that you apply to the rabbit with a cloth and wipe off to clean your bunny. Unlike washing a dog where you would put him/her in tub of water. Check with a pet shop.

You really shouldn't need to bath your rabbit, they are very clean animals and are constantlt washing themselves. If your rabbit has diorea and gets messy, use slightly warm cotton wool to clean the area to prevent fly strike and then go to the vets to find out why it has diorea. rabbit should not have diorea and can quikly become very ill if you ignore the signs. Never submurse your rabbit in water! www.rabbitwelfare.co.uk or www.rabbit.org

rabbits do not need baths. they are naturally clean animals. You might do more harm than good. Rabbits have sensitive skin and shampoo or the wrong temp water can do damage. http://www.rabbit.org
