Hi,

I really don't know about Togo, but next door in Ghana, it is something offered. Not frequently, and I've never seen it on a menu in restaurants or chop bars that I've frequented, but I do pass a chop bar that lists among other things, "Cat Stew" and the picture below it is a steaming bowl of soup with a cat's head on top of it. Very bizarre. I believe this has been going on for a long time, my Ghanaian husband tells me a story that when he was a small boy, their cat named Joseph became missing, and they suspected that their next door neighbors "enjoyed" him.

Personally, I prefer chicken.

Barb is right. It is not something common or traditional but some people do like it... It is also said that in the North of the country people eat dogs.
