You can try The Hilton, The Jamaica Pegasus or cheaper ones like Chelsea Hotel, Four Seasons or Altamont Court.
I admire the fact that you're adventurous enough to want to stay in Kingston. Wherever in the world or in Jamaica you go, bad things can happen. This is not exclusive to Kingston. I've lived here all my life. Just have fun and be careful.

All the best.

PS. Those policemen weren't even shot in Kingston.

There are many things to do and see in Kingston and many hotels to stay at. You can go to visit jamiaca.com for a list of hotels or go to jamaica yp.com and call the hotels. Kingston restaurant week runs from November 11-17 this year when eating out is in. Many restaurants offer discounted meal packages and entertainment.

Alongside Emancipation Park there is a string of nice and clean hotels, The Hilton, Pegasus, The Courtleigh, but if they are a bit pricey The Chelsea Hotel is pretty clean and is only a couple of minutes walk from the above hotels and is much cheaper.

Dont go to Kingston. There are plenty of nice places to go. Try Ocho Rios or Negril. Kingston is VERY dangerous.

Check out the Sandals website site @ www.sandals .com The resorts are all-inclusive meaning you foods, drinks (yes alcohol), and some activities are included in the price. In fact they can get you special pricing for tours!
