Ninja Scroll is pretty good, but it contains some adult themes. You might watch the Full-Metal Alchemist movie. InuYasha has a movie(s). All of these movies have a series, and while they're each intended to be stand-alone, you'll understand better if you watch the series. Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade is also good, and I'm pretty sure it's completely stand-alone.

Belleville Rendezvous was quite good. I think that was French. Very unique visual style to that one. You're better off just seeing it, I couldn't begin to explain it.
Apart from that the only thing I can think of is Sky Blue, a South Korean mix of Anime and CGI. It was an afront to both genres. Which is a shame, because South Korean Films are usually top notch!
