Does anybody have any info about how to raise money to help the family with the funeral. they have to come up with it upfront. they can pay it back soon.

Herman Carroll was 31 years old (would've been 32 October 21) when he was walking in the neighborhood he lived in with his two sisters. both sisters have homes two streets apart. He was walking home from the store and was taking a breather by some neighborhood mailboxes when a Harris County Sheriff's deputy spotted him and thought he was trying to break into the damaged mailboxes. When the officer tried to question him Herman began walking not thinking he was doing any wrong...he hadn't broken any law...he walked into his older sister's home and the officer followed, already calling for backup. They followed him into his home grabbed him and a struggle began. Herman tried to get them off and they tasered him, when that didn't calm him down they beat him with a baton upside the head and then tasered him again. How could he win??

These cope were WRONG!!!! and should pay for this!!!! Herman was not a violent man, but they are trying to cover what they did saying he had "super-human-like strength" he was like 5'9" and 145 lbs....it would take 3 officers to bring him down!!! this was excessive force!! any ideas y'all can give me so i can help my friends would greatly be appreciated!!

The funeral Service for Herman will be taking place Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Carl Barnes funeral home on W. 22nd street in Houston, TX. If you'd like to pay you respects, I'm sure you can send well wishes or flowers or whatever there. You should also be able to go to www.chron.com this is the houston chronicles website and sign the guestbook for obituaries....i think the obituary will be posted today or tomorrow. thank you.

First thing they should do is get a lawyer and sue the Harris County Sheriff's department...the officer needs to be held accountable for his actions. The other thing they can do is to contact local businesses and have them donate baskets & hold a basket auction and dance for a fundraiser. Most bands or DJ's would donate their services for this. I'm so sorry to hear of your friends' loss.

Sorry for your loss.. The best way to get the money for the funeral would be a neighborhood car wash. The community where he was from will pull together.Get one of the Houston T.V. stations to announce it as a community that is grieving and trying to help the family. What ever way the funeral gets paid, the family is suffering from a senseless loss.

i hope you don't mind me asking, but is he black?
i got this idea from foreign magazines i've read. perhaps someone could start a campaign about cops violence, or how about his sisters' schools/workplace? i'm sure this will touch many people's hearts.
