There 3 averages mean mode and median

Mean - True average - Simply add up a series of numbers then divide it by however many numerous you added together eg.

5,10,10, 15,20 would be
5+10+10+15+20=60 as there are 5 figures in the series you divide by 5
60/5= 12

Mode - most frequent -the number that occurs most often

5, 10, 10, 15, 20

as there are more 10's than any other 10 is the mode

Median -the middle number put the numbers in numerical order and select the number which falls in the middle

5, 10, 10, 15, 20 there is a ten in the middle therefor the median is 10.

If there are a even number of figures you select the middle two numbers add them together and divide by to

5, 10, 10, 15, 15, 20

10 +15 =25 /2 =12.5

The sum of all the sample divided by the sample number -

Ten numbers - 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
add them together - 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10 = 55 then divide by the original number of numbers (10) average in this sum is 5.5

The average of any set of quantities can be found by adding all the numbers together then dividing by the number of quantities in the set.

i.e. average = total of quantities / number of quantities

e.g. A darts player throws the following scores during a match:
80, 100, 62, 180, 21, 58

Her average score per throw = (80 + 100 + 62 + 180 + 21 + 55)
=501

501÷ 6 = 83

The Average is 83.

The mean average is calculated by adding up the individual values & then dividing the result by the count of the values you started with.

The Normal Average we use is to add all the given to the number of given.
Ex. 90 91 90 90=361
361 divided by 4
90.25
In Statistics this is the Mean

The Median
Arrange them in order
Ex. (Using the same given in mode)
90+90 divided by 2 = 90
Answer: 90

The Mode
Count the given with the maniest values
Ex. (Using the same example)
Answer: 90

That is what to use now its up to you what you want but the most accurate is the Mean. Remember it is different in Grouped data In the case of thisin Grouped Data their will be extra long Formulas but we use this in Frequency Distributions.

Simply add all the quantities and divide the sum with the number of quantities.
e.g. Average of, ( 2,3,4,5,6,7)
would be,= (2+3+4+5+6+7) / 6.
=27/6
=4.5

you add all the figures together and then divide by the amount of figures. eg 2+3+4= 9 then 9 divided by 3 (because there are three figures you added together)=3 so the average is 3

i.e
28 25 26 28 29 30 32
add them all together
=198
divide by seven
average is 28.29

Depend on what you are talking about. If you are talking about a speed with constant acceleration/deceleration, you add the starting speed with end speed then divide by 2.

If you got not-so-constant acceleration... use calculus to calculate the total distance traveled then divide by time taken.

If it is a statistics... add everything up then divide by the number of items...

Probably more, but your question is too general to answer effectively.

To get the mean you add all the numbers together then divide by how many numbers you added.
To get the median you arrange the numbers in order from smallest to largest and it is the middle one
To get the mode you find the most common number - the one that appears most times
