They aren't keeping the peace anywhere. All the UN peacekeepers do is prolong conflicts. It has been proven for decades now in the middle east.
The UN has been a dysfunctional organization ever since Kofi Annin took over as Secretary General. Thank God his term has expired. Hopefully his successor will clean house in that corruption riddled snake pit and institute some meaningful policy change(s) that will render the agency the effectiveness as originally intended in it's original charter.
