If they include US commoration stamps made from about 1950 to today, they are not worth lining your was basket with them.
If they are older than they, they may have some value if they are in good condition.
If you are selling, it is best to sell to a collector after you have done some research on them using Scott's catalog so you have an idea of their retail worth. If you don't know what you are talking about, you are going to get ripped.
If you have any really old ones, contact me by email. I may be a market for them.

please don't destroy them
put them in a stamp album and keep them unless some body who is interested in Stamp collections want to buy them from you,
it does not have to be a complete collection to be of some importance to some one, because they can be used to complete missing stamps from an existing collection for some body

If you have loads and loads and you save them, you can take them to the post office and get some more.
I'm not too sure exactly how many you need to do that. I few hundred I suppose. My old workplace used to do it.

Put them all together in a big pile and hibernate in it.
Alternatively, make a clock by getting some wood and sticking them all on.
Alternatively (again), throw them off a tall building.
