Why exactly did you break up your friendship? What was the reason behind this? From what you've said, I can't see a reason in why you would break up a friendship that you both loved. If I new the reason behind it I might be able to give you a better answer.

Your heart and your friend's heart is heavy at this point and no good decision can be made. The best decision you can make is a short separation of one or two weeks where you don't see each other or talk to each other. If your friendship can master the separation, then you know it is a true friendship which can weather some stormy condition along the future path.

Don't worry hon, all is not lost! just swallow your pride and pick-up the phone and tell her how you feel. Guess what? I bet she's feeling the same hurt as you are! Go back to being friends and don't mention the row to each other ever again! You can even show her this blog with my permission if you like, that would help the pair of you, you are two silly girls to even let it go this far! Ring her now!!!!! Have a good day kiddo.

Well my advise is there is nothing in this world that is move valuable then friendship, you have been friends for so long it will be a shame to lose it over something silly trust me, it happened to me with one of my best friends of 13 years we fell out after a year 1 decided to call and now were friends again, after a long chat. Trust me talk then one day you would be laughing about it.

maybe you can take a break and let the emotions settle and then see how you feel. if you still want to continue the friendship... call her and apologize for being hasty in your decision. it might take awhile for the trust in the friendship to mend, but if you both think it is worth it you can work through it.
if you still feel slighted after a few days and wonder what you saw in the friendship in the first place, then best to let it go
a final thought......
sometimes misunderstandings have a happy end and one we thought an enemy is really a friend.

It's not clear why you broke up this friendship and what the misunderstanding was. Since you both "cleared the air" and talked about the problem, then it seems that you could be friends again. Take the initiative and tell her you want to re-kindle the friendship...

perhaps it is time in your life to open yourself to new friendships.
I am sorry you can't find a way to include her in that, but perhaps it is better.
you should keep her as a friend, just not so intense and exclusive.
