I have a 1999 Honda Accord which I can no longer drive due to arm injury. What kind of expense would it be to change the car from a manual to an automatic?

Can it be done? Yes. Is it cheap? No.

If the arm injury is temporary, rent a car because it will be cheaper. If it's permanent or very long term, and getting another car is not an option, you might be able to find a tranny from a scrap yard for less than 500$ and a sympathetic mechanit to do the swap for about 1000$.

Make sure you get all the required wiring from the scrap (ask the mechanic).

Good luck!.

Just but a new car, it would be easier to do and you would spend several thousands of dollars for your old car. It still has trade in value now so the price difference wouldn't be worth converting transmissions.

i used to do that type of work but that was on 77-85 chevy pick ups and it was a lot of work then. with todays labor rates it would cost a lot you would have to get a free estimate some where near you and weigh the differences. it may be better to get a new car.

The labor, parts and electronics would probably be as much as buying another automobile.
