Let x=10
Let m=2
Let n=3

X^2=100
X^3=1000

(X^2)*(X^3)=100000 =10^5 = X^(m+n)

Hence it's true. try other examples they all work

x^m=x*x*x*x*x*.... m factors
x^n=x*x*x*x*x*x.....n factors
x^m*x^n=x*x*x*x*x....mfactors*x*x*x*x*....n factors
=x*x*x*x*....(m+n)factors
numerical example
2^5=2*2*2*2*2
2^7=2*2*2*2*2*2*2
2^5*2^7=(2*2*2*2*2)*(2*2*2*2*2*2*2)
=2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2=2^12
