Of course they do.

This is why globalisation is promoted by the rich, and hated by the poor.

It's basically a modern, acceptable form of exploitation.

I think their will always be poor people but Globalisation has worked wonders for some of the poor in China, Malaysia and India. There are many rich people in these areas where as before globalisation there were few.

I understand the amount of poor in these countries is less also.
Africa appears to be the Nemisis for distribution of wealth and industry as it is still in most parts lagging way behind. Maybe as the rich demand more in the new money countries Africa will become the place to look for cheap manufacturing in the future.

Globalisation can only in the end benefit the poor Industry ultiately goes where labour costs are cheaper look at India China and the tiger economies of the far east, Political instability in Africa n countries will lead to inward investment eventually ,that is why in the next five years the oil companies will pull out of Nigeria ,there is no stability so no profit.

All lose out, except the Multinationals shareholders.
Globalisation is a new word for exploitation and protectionism.
The multinationals are producing the same goods (in the 3rd world at low cost) and selling them at the top price in the 1st world.(Nike, Sony, Nokia, Erikson, Motorola, VWetc)
As with all capitalism it is only temporary as the 1st world are put out of work and cant afford to buy the goods. The 3rd world demand higher wages so the multinational move the factory to the next poverty economy.
It is a cycle that goes on, in the short term the multinationals please their shareholders then sell the company.
The main problem is the governments (WTO, WB, IMF) allow multinationals to legally enforce trade protection on brand names (legal brand protectionism and expoloitation).

The poor lose out in everything including being poor. Let me correct that---they succeed with Jesus because he loves them. The Bible has a great deal to say about the poor and needy and how God loves them and will never forget them, and how God will take vengeance upon those wicked persons who take advantage of the poor. I am always grateful for the compassion of Christ and it inspires me to have compassion on the poor and needy.

Yes,but not only the poor lose.
The middle class must watch their wages fall to compete with people who make 55 cents an hour.
I don't know why so many people in both parties think this is good.
