First of all, I am offended by the previous answer. She didn't address your question at all. She just took the opportunity to share her views about IVF. We all have the right to our opinions. It seems to me that she speaks from limited knowledge and makes some unfair assumptions.

I went through IVF this summer. I asked this same question of my doctor. We have millions of eggs, the vast majority of which will never become fertilized. Many, many will never reach maturity, either. IVF does not speed up menopause. Mark that off of your list of concerns.

By the way, I'm 14 weeks pregnant with one baby. :) No embryos were left to freeze, so I feel very fortunate that I got pregnant this time. Good luck to you!

A women produces over millions of eggs in her lifetime, no you won't go into menapause early because of your retrievals. I had 31 eggs retrieved in June. There are many women that do many retrievals and don't go into menapause.

can i just say this: i don't know what your standpoint is on embryos, but all the embryos that you are creating that don't get used will only be trashed. ie, u'll be killing who knows how many of living human beings.

btw, i'm a product of a donor. i don't know if you're doing donor insemination, but i'd rather have been born any other way than in a situation where i probably will never know my father, nor my siblings. it is very difficult and confusing and heartwrenching knowing there are people out there that i'm related to that should be my immediate family but will never know. please reconsider. this is a feeling all of us donor offspring share.
