We needed these people in the begining to do the jobs that British didn't want to. Also in the universities there are more foreign students than British and in some areas like engineering the British are very few. In order for this coountry to keep its economy they needed people with high education and also people for labour jobs and they welcomed the foreigners. Uk was one of the first countries that was happy about the globalisation. When students and educative people were saying no they were called the black sheeps, etc.
Since these people came in UK and they were needed they were given a lot of freedom. UK was supporting the multicultural idea and accepted everything and now is facing the consequences.
Think about it, you cannot invite someone to your country and when you have no use of that person or there are too many who came to just start trying to change their beliefs or to kick them out of the country. We have brought that upon ourselves.

Well a Pakistani guy beat my BF's boss unconcious with a police truncheon recently and has got away scott free with it.

BF's boss is white.

I'm sure if it had been the other way around and a white guy had attacked a Pakistani it would have been headline news and the white guy would have been banged up immediately.

Pakistani guy apparently told the police he was "provoked" into doing it because BF's boss made a "racist remark". Oh so its "OK" to beat someone half to death for insulting you is it??? Or does that only apply whren its a white person insulting a Muslim???

The police spent more time questioning BF's boss than they did the Pakistani guy.

Its digusting, a total travesty of justice. It seems you can do anything if you play th "race" card. The laws just don't apply to you!

stuff religion, we all pay our taxes. My religion says I have to wear a big wooly hat with a multicoloured bobble on the end, I refuse to take it off, it has flaps to keep my ears warm and a wrap over to keep the cold air out of my mouth. so all you see is my eyes-but i would certainly not cover my face when talking to someone as it is rude. Of course the cover over the mouth lessens chances of getting colds, flu etc from others. So maybe we should all wear them. Good protection from avian flu, maybe they know something we don't!

I think they should be able to wear what the hell they like, but they should have some manners when knowing when to wear the veil across the face. same at school. nuns wear their habits minus veil, nobody runs around complaining. So,drop the veil sistah on those occasions when its rude! If you need me to tell you when that is, then you are just playing games.

I appreciate your feelings over the issue. Delicate matters require delicate handling. Religions and their injunctions are delicate matters that ought to be respected even if not observed. I believe that your own hoodys and caps are not enjoined by any religion, hence they are optional. Tolerance is it. If your country cannot tolerate all that goes with islam, it should not allow in the muslims. Or how do you ask a person to come to you but leave his legs behind?

This is the point every (well most) native Brit would like to make, but we just get called racist...

It totally pisses me off, why are these people given special treatment. As I understand it the veils are not compulsory in the religion, they are choice. So why when told to remove these stupid cloak things with just eye holes do they start bleating religious shite.
These women want to be liberated from their countries so why not take the fooking opportunity to do so....or fook off back where they came from if it's so great!

We can only blame government policy (the multicultural experiment) over many years.
Most MP's do not wish to confront a problem, in their desire to get votes they will try to appease everyone and find a compromise. Unfortunately the compromise has been one way, and for the British public to accept the diminishing of its own culture and always be forced by law to find an understand and accommodation for all other cultures.
There will eventually be a backlash and poor old Enoch Powell hounded out of government as a racist (remember him) will be proven correct.
I am not a racist, I like my own culture, its my birthright.

It's for religious reasons.

To some of these people it would be a very bad thing to have to take their covering off.

On the other hand, you kids just wear hoods and hats because you want to be tough.

The shopkeepers obviously think that if a moslem woman pulls up her burkha to hide shoplifted goods someone will notice.
