I'm not suggesting that I believe that the Muslim religion is the way to go because there's a lot I don't agree with.

No - I'm not moving to Mecca! I value my freedom and would rather risk my life here. They wouldn't have me anyway!
It's just that people say the death enalty doesn't work, jails don't work, so what does?

Cute - You're not cute at all. I've been robbed my devout Muslims myself so I know that there are "good" Muslims as well as "bad" Muslims. We're all people and my country is more important to me than a group of people simply because we share the same religion. I'm not stupid, I can judge for myself with needing a Koran to tell me how to think. All war is wrong, all killing is wrong. whether or not it is a bomb from a "martyr" or a bomb from an aeroplane. America will say it was attacked first.
I'm not interested in the rantings and raving of a bunch of religious fanatics. You bring no glory to your God - if God is as powerful as he says he is, let him sort out his own problems. He doesn't need feeble men to do it. And until that day happens, why don't we try to get on with each other?

depends on the country, in Iraq it super high, in yemen it very bad as well, in iran it is one of the worst in the region , don't even talk about pakistan and afghanistan.
What do we learn from it? uneducated and intolerant people plus poverty and lack of civilization can add to higher crime rate.

There are plenty of crimes committed the difference is most are not reported ,censorship is common on the media. If the case is before a Sharia court then the penalties are or can be harsh as there is no Jury only a panel of Imans.Crimes against women ,or abuse ,as seen by western eyes may well go unpunished ,and worth remembering that punishment for women is also severe. the prisons are pretty full in Saudia arabia and other country's so dont be fooled . The only good thing is the death penalty which is a great deterrent and may stop a great many murders and rapes etc. Why you ask , thinking of moving to Mecca ....

You'll be surprised by how much things like rape, murder and other crimes are censored from the media. I worked in Syria, was on the way to work (by car) and passed a body of a woman at the side of the road. Apparently threw herself out onto road because she was being kidnapped, no mention of this the following day by the local radio, news etc. that's to mention just one instance. So don't think for one minute that they've got it right and the rest need educating.

I know of a person who worked in Saudi Arabia who was so drunk;he slumped across the steering wheel in busy traffic. He was arrested by a cop,But guess what one phone call to his highly influential sheikh and he was back on the road as soon as he was sober.

Which belief is creating school children that shoot their fellow class mates, and raping women, and robbing the poor and rich.

But I shoud say, that religion doesn't change your heart God does.

free will again, regardless of the name of the belief , if you don't believe , then belief isn't worth anything to you, and law means nothing at all, because you will place yourself above it.

Yes,ofcourse the crime rate is less because they hav strong faith in Allah(the most gracious, the most mercifull). Allah says that all muslims r brothers 2 each other & u should spend time with each other in well way.Allah does not like those muslims who kill other muslims & he will never forgive those muslims who kill the other muslims but if a muslim kill non-muslim(as it is happening in Afghanistan like Al-Qaida,Osama Bin Ladin and Taliban r doing they want 2 kill all americans police and it is allowed in ISLAM because in Quran there is written that if any one attacks ur country u should do Jihad(making sacrifice of life 4 allah). But u people call them terrorists.U ur self tell me that if any one attacks ur country will u not protect ur country by fighting against them.Similary Al-Qaida and Osama r doing & it is not wrong because they want 2 kill all non-muslims and it is allow in ISLAM and inshallah they will no body can stop them.Because Allah is helping them. But there r some bad peoples also in islam who r killing their muslim brothers Allah will never forgive them it is said by Allah in Quran.
