i bumped into a wooden tollgate barrier, it scraped onto to top of my car and left its white and red paint. How can i remove them safely without damaging my origina paint or the finish? i heard of using rubbing compound but they say its not good since they remove the finishing coat (the are will be dull). what can i use to emove the paints?

You would have to do some major rubbing to remove the paint with rubbing compound. I would use it and then when the white and red paint is gone get some scratch and swirlmark remover to really make the paint shine.

have it buffed out. and you might want to buff the rest of the car to keep an even finish and shine. use a course compound to remove the bad spot and move on to a polish compound till you are happy.

use polishing compound because it's a finer grit than rubbing compound and won't damage your paint

hi maybe the paint will come off if you scrape it with your thumbnail or a sharp piece of plastic but be gentile and watch your progress closely:)

Try a clay bar with it's spray-on lubricant.

You could try T-Cut, but be very gentle.
