Yes you will need to upgrade from 1.5 every time you want to play a umd game.

Unfortunately yes, had the same problem - play a umd game reset back to default settings to play homebrew, got lucky when a friend sold me his psp so now have 1 for each...

It depends. Have you recently downgraded?
If you want to play UMD games which require a higher firmware installed, just upgrade using the UMD disk.
But if you want to still play CSO's and ISO's you will need some software called devhook.
this can be downloaded from www.psphacks.com
The software makes your psp think its running a higher firmware, which enables you to run games

To run a UMD...
1) put the UMD in your PSP
2) start up your PSP
3) go to "GAME"
4) select UMD Disk or watever your game name is.
5 there you go N00bxorz

no categories of video games. i might purchase the DS relatively of the PSP if it for toddlers. We very own the two and play the DS lots extra advantageous than the psp. the DS will play the two Gameboy video games and DS video games. purchase extra advantageous stylus once you get the sport reason possibilities are high they're going to lose the only it comes with and you will want extra advantageous. chuffed trip journeys

i dont think ya can. the softwear on the game has the new firmwire on ready to install on ya psp and once its been installed they aint no going back and it wont let ya play untill it put the new firmwire on. hope that helps
