The book is MUCH better than the schmaltzy movie, but it's still very 70's. Love means *admitting* when you're wrong, and saying sorry when you need to.

I saw the movie in the seventies with a girl I was going out with at the time, and I thought the female in that was very selfish. In the movieshe something along the lines of, you don't have to tell a person that you love them. In the movie What's up doc, the same line was mentioned to Ryan O'Neil by Barbara Striesand, and he replied, who said a dumb thing like that.

wonderfully manipulative! Wrenches the heart strings and breaks a few.
Is it well written or did he just pick on a devastating story and write about the 2 lovers?
Is it Romeo and Juliet 400 years on?

When I was a teenager I read it in one sitting, couldn't stop flipping the pages. As an adult I don't think it would hold my attention.

"Love means never having to say your sorry". I don't agree. You should apologise sometimes (especially when wrong).
