I used MetaStock for years. It is a good, reputable company, and a very capable charting package. But I haven't used it in over 8 yrs, so I haven't seen the latest versions.

Many brokers offer their own charting software, integrated with thier trading platform, like E*trade.

I'm not sure what specific needs you have for the Indian market, whether it is in your language or not, but a stock is a stock, and the charting package doesn't care what exchange the stock is listed on. It is merely charting price.

One of the best online brokerages and charting software is from TerraNovaOnline.com. Their parent company is Townsend Electronics, who digitized the Nasdaq. These are technological leaders in the industry, with cutting edge stuff.

I use RealTick for $275/mo, and still haven't learned all of the bells and whistles after two years.

I assume you want to get hooked up with a data feed to your own computer, but otherwise, here are some great charting sites:

Metastock and Tradestation are supposed to be the best, but expensive.

I use Stockwiz for French stocks and end-of-day trading. It's free. It comes with a stock screener and a rule wizard. I don't use these any more as Stockwiz is completely programmable, and I programmed all my screens and rules. It also means one can backtest just about every system. The only drawback is that the programming language is somewhat primitive.
But it's free and nowadays I can do everything I want with it.

Caveat:
- You still need a service to get your daily stockquotes, which is most likely *not* free
