AMD vs Intel
Both are good
Depends on what chip of each you want to compare with each other
Are you looking for a desktop or notebook?
AMD is generally cheaper than Intel & slightly slower performance.
Then again some of AMD latest chips are very competitive to Intel.
Check there websites & decide on what chip you want to compare or buy.
I have only ever used Intel chips.
I will be buying a new notebook soon that will have the Intel Core Duo or Core(2) Duo processor.
Hope this helps...

AMD was in the lead. but now with the new demands of applications and multitasking, you should get INTEL CORE2DUO. in all the comparisons, it beats AMD hands down for everything from video editing to 3D gaming. intel core2duo chips are pretty affordable too. i recommend the 6600, most worth your money

Go for AMD Athlon 64 or 128 Dual processor.
Intel is good but AMD out performs it.

I build alot of sytems for users and shifted toward AMD many years ago because they were cheaper than Intel. I have never had a failure of an AMD chip and have yet to see anyone who can detect ANY difference in performance! AMD all the way! Anyone who tells you they can see a performance difference is talkin outta their bumhole! Your talkin nanoseconds here and the human brain couldnt possibly detect differences at these speeds!

Both are great.
Get the fastest you can for whatever your budget is.
PS it's called Athlon, not Athelon.
